Electronic Health Record (EHR) Demonstration
As of November 26th 2008, applications for the demonstration are no longer being accepted.
Southwestern Pennsylvania physicians and patients stand to benefit from a five-year quality improvement demonstration that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) will be launching here in fall 2008. Our region will be one of a dozen locations across the country in which the use of electronic health records (EHRs) by small to medium-sized primary care physician practices will be tested.
The federal demonstration program should be of interest to primary care physicians (PCP) who already use EHRs, or are thinking of implementing EHRs. Qualified participants will receive EHR implementation and clinical quality performance incentives of up to $58,000/practitioner over the five-year demonstration period (capped at $290,000/participating practice).
The Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative (PRHI) is the local demonstration project sponsor for CMS. For more information, contact PRHI at ehrdemo@prhi.orgInformation regarding the EHR Demonstration
