The Jewish Healthcare Foundation (JHF) and the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative (PRHI) are thrilled to announce the inaugural Patient Safety Technology Challenge Grand Awards, a groundbreaking competition that will bring together the creativity and innovation displayed through the dozens sponsored competitions and hundreds of event participants.

This unique competition offers a new prize pool of $25,000 cash and an opportunity for finalists to pitch their ideas at CES 2025, aiming to propel tech-enabled patient safety solutions to the forefront of healthcare innovation. All participants of previous Patient Safety Technology Challenge–sponsored competitions, held between September 2022 and June 2024, are invited to compete for this prestigious prize.

The hybrid competition not only promises monetary rewards but also an unparalleled opportunity to showcase innovations at the world's largest technology trade shows.

Six teams will be selected as finalists, with one member from each finalist team receiving a travel and accommodation stipend to participate in the Grand Awards Showcase in Las Vegas, Nevada. These representatives will pitch their ideas on stage at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on January 9, 2025, in front of a live audience of innovators, investors, and consumers. Other team members will receive free tickets to attend CES 2025, offering them a valuable opportunity to engage with the tech and startup community.

The finalist teams will exhibit their ideas at the Patient Safety Technology Challenge booth located in Eureka Park, the startup arena of CES. In 2024, Eureka Park featured over 1,400 startups showcasing their products, services, and ideas. This prime location next to the Startup Stage will provide finalists with exceptional visibility to CES attendees, helping them advance their innovative solutions.

The $25,000 prize pool will be divided into three categories of innovations: Best Idea, Best in Development, and Best in Growth. The three winning teams will receive cash prizes, while the remaining three finalists will take home a trophy and an unforgettable experience of exhibiting at CES.

The Grand Awards are funded by the JHF and administered by the PRHI.
