Our Work
Educating, convening, and mobilizing stakeholders to create a safer, higher-performing health system.
Fostering Partnerships, Advocacy, and Technology to Enhance Patient Outcomes
The Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative presents a bold proposition -- that quality improvement and healthcare safety should be societal and business imperatives.
The PRHI collaboration of medical, business, and civic leaders advocates for the creation of a National Patient Safety Board to address the persistent problem of medical error.
PRHI’s efforts extend beyond its legislative advocacy. It actively implements programs to significantly reduce hospital-acquired infections, strengthen and add to the healthcare workforce, and pioneer demonstration projects aimed at transforming care delivery and payment for patients between medical and community settings.
Looking ahead, PRHI wants to expand its impact in autonomous patient safety solutions through grants and by involving technologists in initiatives like the Patient Safety Technology Challenge.
This forward-thinking strategy positions PRHI at the forefront of healthcare innovation, aiming to improve patient outcomes while addressing complex health challenges.
